Job Overview

We are seeking an Entry entry-level draftsman with an interest in residential and/or modular construction to join the Bill Lake team. This team member will create precise construction drawings that guide the fabrication and assembly of our modular homes. You'll work closely with our engineering, sales, and production teams to translate customer selections and preferences into detailed, buildable plans using AutoCAD LT.

Core Functions Of This Role Will Include

  • Project Management & Documentation
    • Utilize AutoCAD to develop detailed design, accurate and detailed drawings and technical plans for modular homes, including but not limited to floor plans, elevations, electrical, plumbing and HVAC schematics.
    • Thoroughly review & interpret project documents (plans, specifications, etc.) for constructability, alignment with Bill Lake standards, and cost effectiveness.
    • Ensure all designs adhere to NYS building codes and standards.
    • Effectively communicate modifications needed to project documents and ensure documents are updated prior to construction start.
    • Maintain organized documentation of all plans, schematics, and other project correspondence.
  • Leadership & Communication:
    • Exemplary attention to detail and strong communication skills.
    • Collaborate with all key stakeholders and customers to understand project scope and objectives.
    • Work closely with sales, engineering, and production teams to ensure designs meet customer needs and industry standards.
    • Work collaboratively and cross-functionally to obtain information or solve problems in support of the team's goals.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in using AutoCAD.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • A degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred not required..
