Job Description
Oversee responses to subpoenas, including review and analysis of subpoena to determine if the subpoena is properly served and legally valid based on jurisdictional rules
Regularly correspond with outside attorneys and take the lead on meeting and conferring to respond to document and deposition subpoenas
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to obtain, compile, and redact documents responsive to informal and formal document requests and subpoenas
Assist with litigation matters including discovery management tasks such as gathering, interviewing, and documenting review for discovery responses
Independently conduct legal research covering various subjects including healthcare law and insurance, and write and prepare analysis and conclusions with citations for attorney review
Exercise independent judgment when researching complex legal and compliance issues and reporting findings and opinions to attorneys
Responsible for administrative tasks as needed, including corporate legal operations, BEA filings, US Census responses, contract administration, managing CT Corporation business license filings, sending out correspondence, invoicing, and providing guidance to business partners on use of the legal departments software applications
Provide administrative assistance to users of the CLM including access, contract submission, reporting, and escalation of bugs and issues discovered
Build positive relationships and partner with various functions in the company including Claims, Sales, IT, and Operations to drive corporate and legal initiatives and meet evolving business needs
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
Coordinate special projects as assigned
Comply with IT security requirements and policies
Safeguard IT passwords
Notify of any IT security incidents per policies

Skills And Requirements
B.A. from an accredited college or a paralegals certificate
3+ years of experience as a litigation paralegal or in a similar corporate legal environment
Healthcare Experience Preferred
Working knowledge of healthcare privacy and state privacy laws highly preferred
Strong legal research and analysis skills
Experience in using legal database software such as Ironclad, DocuSign, and Simple Legal
Ability to perform independent research using Westlaw, business applications, databases, data viewing tools, and reports to analyze legal issues and draft legal memoranda
Proficient with Adobe, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Well-developed skills in prioritizing, organization, decision-making, and time management
Excellent oral and written communication skills with keen attention to detail
Demonstrated ability to be proactive, exercise independent judgment, and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Strong work ethic and ability to produce high-quality work under deadline pressure
Unquestionable integrity and ethics null
