Position Overview
The Bookkeeper will be responsible for managing day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger entries. This role is vital to maintaining accurate financial records and supporting internal and external reporting requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Record and categorize daily financial transactions using accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks)
- Process accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing, payments, and collections
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and vendor statements monthly
- Assist with payroll processing and benefits-related reconciliations
- Maintain organized financial records in accordance with company and regulatory standards
- Support month-end and year-end close processes
- Assist with audit preparation and provide documentation as needed
- Collaborate with finance and administrative teams to ensure smooth financial operations
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Bachelor's preferred)
- 2+ years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in a healthcare or service-based environment
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Understanding of basic accounting principles and GAAP
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information
- Excellent organizational, time-management, and communication skills
- Experience with medical billing systems or healthcare finance workflows
- Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and healthcare regulations
