Responsibilities

  • Assists individual salespeople in setting aggressive yet realistic monthly goals and objectives and provides them with the support to meet these goals
  • Maintains teamwork in a customer-focused sales environment throughout the sales, delivery, and follow-up process
  • Provides effective communication throughout the pre-owned vehicle department as well as interdepartmental
  • Provides proper product and training resources for salespeople on a regular and continuous basis
  • Develops incentive programs along with dealer and other managers
  • Helps salespeople close deals as necessary
  • Completes deal settlement sheets and turns into accounting office in a prompt and timely manner
  • Establishes and maintains standards for the delivery of vehicles to customers
  • Provides dealer with accurate floor traffic control data on a daily basis
  • Reviews inventory daily to ensure the proper mix of grounded stock for maximum turnover efficiency
  • Assists with trade appraisals as needed
  • Directs merchandising and advertising efforts for the new-vehicle department in conjunction with the sales managers and dealer
  • Maintain the used car inventory - be accountable for tracking titles, the flow of repairs and recon of inventory to ensure those units get on our lot as soon as possible
  • Manage the employees of your department in a fair and efficient way, which is not only pre-owned sales consultants but also the used car prep and recon team


Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven leadership ability to supervise and motivate a sales team to exceed goals
  • Proven success in auto retail sales management
  • Minimum Preowned Sales Manager experience of 5 years or more
  • Auction purchasing experience
  • Strong aptitude for logical thinking, including detailed problem solving skills
  • Demonstrates self-assurance, self-confidence and a strong desire to work in a demanding but rewarding atmosphere
  • Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations that affect new-vehicle sales.
  • Detail oriented and excels in a fast-paced, results driven environment
  • Persistent and goal driven
  • Experience as a Mercedes-Benz Sales Manager preferred
  • Knowledge of Reynolds & Reynolds preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Ability to pass drug testing and background check
  • Professional appearance and work ethic
