Clean Energy Coordinator

Forge

Date: 23 hours ago
City: Newton, MA
Salary: $60,000 - $70,000 per year
Contract type: Full time
At Forge we are enabling the energy transition by building an entirely new kind of HVAC company from the ground up. Heat pumps are the future of home heating and cooling, and we’re on a mission to bring them to every home in Greater Boston (and beyond). To do that, we’re building our own team of top-notch installers as well as the ops team to keep everything running smoothly. We’re a startup, so things move fast, stuff changes, and we figure it out as we go.

For this role we need someone organized, tenacious, sharp, and curious — someone who can handle a million moving parts without dropping the ball. At the crux of it all: you’ve gotta be able to figure shit out.

If something breaks, you’ll fix it. If something’s unclear, you’ll ask. If you see a better way to do it, you’ll speak up. If there’s no playbook, you’ll build one. This isn’t a cozy, predictable, corporate desk job. It’s fast, it’s sometimes messy, and it’s going to look different six months from now than it does today. If you need every answer spelled out for you, this isn’t your gig.

We need someone who thrives in organized chaos, loves a challenge and working with a kickass team, and can stay composed when things go sideways.

What You’ll Actually Do

The role of project coordinator at Forge is at the center of our customer experience. Our sales team owns customer interactions until a signed deal. From there, you take over, guiding homeowners through the largest purchase they are likely to make in their lifetime other than buying a home or car. You are the face of Forge.

You’ll Own

  • Job intake - As jobs come in, you’ll get up to speed and understand all of the details;
  • Pre-Construction checklist - You’ll help our customers obtain their MassSave heat loan, gather information for permits, and generally be their sherpa through a process that takes 1-4 weeks;
  • Talking to homeowners (a lot), answering their questions and keeping them updated;
  • Working with our warehouse division to get materials and get permits lined up;
  • Partnering with field supervision and leadership teams to schedule and assign install crews;
  • Working within modern systems and helping keep them up to date (Hubspot, work management software, etc);
  • Sending invoices and making sure we get paid;
  • When you’re ready, negotiating change orders and managing margin on jobs;
  • Spotting problems before they happen and pitching ideas to make us better.

Who You Are

  • You don’t need your hand held but aren’t afraid to ask questions as you’re learning (and can’t wait to teach the next person);
  • You’re meticulously organized and obsessed with details but patient with homeowners who might not be;
  • You can juggle a bunch of stuff at once without freaking out or dropping balls, but know when to raise your hand and ask for help;
  • You’re good with people — on the phone, virtually, email, and in person;
  • You learn and grow fast, ask good questions, and take initiative; You stay calm when things hit the fan and jump in to help fix it, even if it’s not your fault. You’re a no drama person;
  • You’re comfortable with learning and using new tech tools (G-Suite, Slack, Zoom, scheduling software, whatever we throw at you);
  • You’re intrigued by AI and excited to work within a company that wants to use it to give you superpowers.

Bonus Points

  • Experience in construction, trades, or HVAC is a win but not necessary;
  • You’ve scheduled crews or managed field teams before;
  • You’ve handled invoices, paperwork, or permits.
