SUMMARY: The Community School Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the implementation and success of community school initiatives within the Nampa School District. This position involves collaborating with various stakeholders, including school administrators, teachers, parents, community organizations, and local agencies, to develop and coordinate programs and services that address the needs of students, families, and the community. Additionally, the Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of the development and operation of the Family-Community Resource Center at assigned location(s).

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with school administration and staff, community partners, and stakeholders to identify the needs of students and families through annual needs and asset assessment process
  • Develop and implement an annual community school site action plan that aligns with the school's goals and objectives.
  • Coordinate and oversee the implementation of programs, initiatives, and services to address identified needs.
  • Monitor program effectiveness and make data-driven adjustments to improve outcomes.
  • Foster strong relationships with school personnel, families, community organizations, and agencies to facilitate collaboration and resource sharing.
  • Facilitate site-based Community School Advisory Council to support the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the Community School Strategy.
  • Lead community conversations, workshops and events to promote communication and collaboration among the community.
  • Serve as a liaison between the school, community organizations, and families to ensure effective partnerships.
  • Identify barriers to student success and well-being and develop strategies to address them.
  • Develop partnerships and build sustainable systems to connect families with community resources and services to meet their specific needs.
  • Collaborate with Federal Programs staff, other Community School coordinators, school personnel and external partners to implement strategies for student attendance and engagement
  • Collect and analyze data related to program outcomes and student/family needs.
  • Maintain accurate records of program activities, attendance, and participation.
  • Prepare reports and presentations to share program achievements, challenges,
  • and recommendations.
  • Use data to inform program improvements and decision-making.
  • Stay updated on best practices, research, and trends in community schools and
  • related fields.
  • Attend required training sessions, conferences, and workshops to enhance
  • professional knowledge and skills.
  • Serve as a positive role model for students, and practices the behaviors that are expected of our students
  • Work in a flexible and cooperative manner.
  • Participate in school committees and decision-making bodies.
  • Participate in monthly meetings and trainings scheduled by supervisor.
  • Perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
  • Work collaboratively with other Federal Programs to provide student and family supports.

Education And/Or Experience

  • Experience working with economically, culturally, and linguistically diverse populations.
  • Fluent in Spanish (preferred).
  • Experience writing proposals for small grant opportunities and funding requests (preferred).
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent related experience (4-6 years) in a related field of work

  • Proven ability to prioritize day-to-day programming and responsive to emergent issues and concerns.

  • Proficient working in a PC platform, but not limited to Microsoft Office products and cloud based software.

  • Ability to attend local meetings and share information as a representative of the school and district as assigned.
  • Lifting, transporting, bending, and reaching are necessary due to the delivers of goods, products, and foods.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read, analyze and interpret governmental regulations and legal documents. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

PROBLEM SOLVING SKILLS: Demonstrate sound judgment by taking appropriate actions regarding questionable findings or concerns.

PRODUCTIVITY/EFFICIENCY SKILLS: Consistently demonstrate ability to respond to changing situations in a flexible manner in order to meet current needs, such as reprioritizing work as necessary; organize job functions and work area to be able to effectively complete varied assignments within established time frame.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Ability to provide general district information and respond to questions from administrators, managers, employees, customers, and/or the general public in a professional and pleasant manner.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute hourly, daily, and contractual rates.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral and diagram form.
