Salary Range: $63k to $78k.

  • Location: New Britain, CT.
  • Work Model: Onsite, State Wide Rehabilitation Centers, Traveling to local Community Partners.
  • Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm.

What You’ll Do

As a Regional Business Development Specialist, you won’t just be selling a service—you’ll be opening doors and changing lives. This role is all about building meaningful partnerships with businesses, community organizations, and government entities to create employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities and veterans.

  • You’ll lead regional outreach and business development efforts, manage a dedicated team, and drive real impact through strategic relationship-building, data-informed decision-making, and goal-oriented leadership.
  • Identify, develop, and maintain strong relationships with employers and partners that lead to sustainable employment opportunities.
  • Position our services as a trusted, cost-effective staffing solution for employers seeking dependable, work-ready candidates.
  • Represent the organization at networking events, job fairs, and community functions to expand visibility and reach.
  • Actively travel throughout the State to meet with employers, assess their needs, and tailor solutions that align with our mission.
  • Lead, mentor, and support a team of Career Navigators and Job Developers.
  • Establish clear goals and expectations, monitor performance, and foster a collaborative, mission-driven team culture.
  • Design and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for outreach efforts, job placements, and employer engagement.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching to support individual development and team success.
  • Work closely with internal leadership to ensure outreach efforts align with program capabilities and objectives.
  • Analyze data to assess outcomes, identify trends, and implement strategies for improvement.
  • Report regularly to senior leadership with insights, progress updates, and strategic recommendations.
  • Ensure full compliance with all internal policies, industry regulations, and program requirements.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Human Services, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years in business development, outreach, or workforce development roles.
  • At least 2 years of supervisory or team leadership experience, preferably in a performance-driven setting.
  • Proven ability to build long-term partnerships and communicate value effectively to business leaders, community partners, and service providers.
  • Strong data analysis skills, with experience tracking KPIs and using CRM systems (Salesforce or equivalent).
  • Strong public speaking, presentation, and professional writing skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Teams).
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel regularly throughout the region.

Physical, Environmental, & Emotional Demands

  • The position is based in a standard office environment with controlled lighting, temperature, and noise levels.
  • Primarily sedentary work involving prolonged periods at a desk using a computer, phone, and other office equipment.
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing and operating standard office tools.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry light materials or documents (up to 20 lbs).
  • May require standing or walking for meetings or site visits.
  • May require occasional travel to regional or national sites, which may involve airport navigation and extended periods outside the office.
