Job Summary
The Manufacturing Programmer at CST Covers is responsible for developing, editing, and maintaining CNC programs used across a range of specialized routers and cutting machines. This role requires expert-level understanding of CAD/CAM software and a deep familiarity with equipment programming for 2-axis and 5-axis machines. The Programmer will work closely with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to ensure efficient, accurate, and safe operations in support of CST’s mission to deliver precision-engineered cover solutions.

Job Summary

This role requires expert-level understanding of CAD/CAM software and a deep familiarity with equipment programming for 2-axis and 5-axis machines. The Programmer will work closely with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to ensure efficient, accurate, and safe operations in support of CST’s mission to deliver precision-engineered cover solutions.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Create and optimize CNC programs using SheetCam, CAMProX, CAMPlus, and AutoCAD.
- Translate 2D/3D engineering drawings into machine-readable formats for cutting and routing.
- Program and support the following machines:
- ESAB Table Router (2-axis)
- KOMO Table Router (2-axis)
- Onsrud Table Router (2-axis)
- Onsrud X Series (5-axis)
- Emmegi (5-axis)
- Collaborate with operators to troubleshoot and resolve machining or programming issues.
- Maintain program version control, toolpath optimization, and post-processors.
- Ensure program accuracy, material efficiency, and machine safety.
- Work closely with engineers to support new designs and prototyping.
- Review and revise programs to improve process speed, accuracy, and material usage.
- Document programming procedures and maintain CNC file libraries.
- Technical certification or Associate’s degree preferred.
- 2+ years of hands-on CNC programming experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SheetCam, CAMProX, and CAMPlus.
- Demonstrated experience programming 2-axis and 5-axis machines.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and technical schematics.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and manufacturing best practices.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with excellent interpersonal and collaboration abilities.
- Proven ability to manage shifting deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong problem-solving, project management, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work effectively across all functional areas.
