We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Sales to drive growth within the Aerospace & Defense industry. This role requires strong technical and market expertise to identify new opportunities, lead customer engagement, and execute strategic initiatives.

The Director of Sales will lead efforts to identify, develop, and capture new business opportunities within the Aerospace & Defense (A&D) sector. This individual will be responsible for market strategy, proposal development, and building long-term customer relationships.

Job Summary
The Director of Sales will lead efforts to identify, develop, and capture new business opportunities within the Aerospace & Defense (A&D) sector. This individual will be responsible for market strategy, proposal development, and building long-term customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify new business development opportunities in the Aerospace & Defense sector based on strong technical knowledge and market insight
- Develop 1-year, 3-year, and 5-year business plans and supporting business cases for key opportunities
- Participate in annual sales forecasting and budgeting processes
- Build new and leverage existing relationships with key customers and decision-makers
- Initiate and manage new development programs, acting as the primary point of contact for the customer
- Lead bid and proposal activities including win strategy, competitive analysis, pricing strategy, and proposal development
- Conduct customer visits, gather feedback, and enhance overall business relationships
- Lead cross-functional teams in pursuit and capture of strategic opportunities
- Maintain market and competitive intelligence to inform business strategies
- Monitor trends and activity within the A&D aftermarket and fleets
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering from an accredited institution
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in sales, marketing, business development, or a technical role within the A&D sector
- Proven experience leading technical projects, including planning and proposal writing
- Results-oriented with strong interpersonal skills to engage all levels of customer organizations
- Familiarity with key A&D customer segments such as DoD programs, Commercial OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, aftermarket support, or international business
- Strategic thinker with the ability to implement actionable growth plans
- Track record of qualifying, developing, and sustaining customer relationships
- Ability to align market opportunities with company capabilities and goals
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; proficiency in MS Office
- Must be able to travel up to 30%
