Position Summary

Denver Botanic Gardens is currently seeking a Full Time Membership Assistant Manager in our Membership and Visitor Services Department! Read below to see if the requirements might be a good fit for you:

This position works closely with the Membership Manager in overseeing the membership program, including, but not limited to, reporting and analysis, data management, member acquisition, solicitation, benefit fulfillment, benefit events and associated activities.

This position works in partnership with the Membership, Visitor, and Volunteer Services teams to implement member focused initiatives. The Assistant Manager of Membership will work with leadership to explore and establish Membership guidelines and processes for the department. This position is responsible for supervisory duties in the absence of the Membership Manager. Weekend and evening work required.

Requirements

General Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides outstanding customer service to all staff, visitors, and Denver Botanic Gardens customers, including but not limited to phone, in-person, written, verbal, and electronic communication.
  • Fulfills Membership strategies including solicitation, renewal processes, and membership appreciation programs through mailed and emailed communications.
  • Executes assigned aspects of membership programs including but not limited to check logs, auto renew and pledge programs, charging payments through approved methods and ensuring seamless membership renewal in Ticketure and Salesforce and sending reminder and follow-up communications to members.
  • Executes assigned aspects of the implementation of member events and programs including but not limited to Member Appreciation Mornings, previews, and general admission.
  • Provides required information for mailing and emailing member publications, renewals, new member welcome emails, member acquisition emails, generating clean-up lists, updating email formats and content, and sending member e-blasts.
  • Reviews and maintains accurate member data in multiple databases.
  • Maintains regular hours, as well as operate during special events, including evenings and weekends as necessary.
  • Assists with implementation of member engagement events in partnership with Visitor Services, Volunteer Services, and other departments as necessary.
  • Works with Membership and Visitor Services Training team, assist in training Member and Visitor Services Representatives and Coordinators.
  • Works closely with Member and Visitor Services team to improve sales and retention and deliver valuable benefits.
  • Stays informed and updates appropriately all current membership information to the public and members including but not limited to the web page, newsletters, general letters, membership cards, membership brochures, concert brochure and signage.
  • Generates gift acknowledgement letters for the required individuals including but not limited to the CEO, Director of Membership, Visitor and Volunteer Services within established guidelines.
  • Works with team to utilize marketing tools to make sure Denver Botanic Gardens Membership information is accessible to members and the public.
  • Reviews yearly calendar with Member and Visitor Service Manager to insure staff and volunteer coverage on all events.
  • Seeks to be knowledgeable about all Denver Botanic Gardens horticulture, exhibits, programs and events to reflect the experience and brand at the Gardens.
  • Regular attendance at the worksite may be required. As with all positions at Denver Botanic Gardens, the incumbent must be in good performance standing to be eligible for remote work. Remote work is at the discretion of management at all times.
  • All Gardens employees must be committed to the mission of connecting people with plants, especially plants from the Rocky Mountain region and similar regions around the world, providing delight and enlightenment to everyone.

Position Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
  • Must have proven excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills in dealing with the public.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Ability to maintain stability under pressure and able to deal well with stressful situations.
  • Ability to be flexible and willing to modify plans, when necessary, throughout the day.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and/or holidays.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Suite products, specifically Word, Excel and Outlook and Teams.
  • Ability to work overtime as necessary.
  • Must be a positive representative of the Gardens both internally and externally at all times.
  • Must work with respect and cooperation at all times with fellow employees and the public.
  • Must be committed to working safely at all times.

Experience/Education

  • High school diploma / GED and/or combination of education and equivalent experience is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a high-volume customer service center, preferably a call center.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a leadership position dealing with the public.
  • Minimum of 1 year in a supervisory role.
