Job Purpose

To coordinate the NWT operations in the Southern Region, including by-product activities, driver recruitment and retention, customer service activities, and business growth.

In This Position You Will Have The Opportunity To

  • Conduct safety inspections in accordance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
  • Identify FMCSR violations and take corrective action
  • Coordination of the movement of by-products
  • Negotiate pricing with customers based on market demand.
  • Monitor and document driver compliance with all safety rules and regulations
  • Lead efforts in transportation efficiency improvement, as needed
  • Solicit new business, both flatbed and vans in alignment with strategic plan.
  • Recruitment and hiring of drivers , evaluating driver service performance, initiating driver corrective performance actions, including driver safety issues
  • Provide key sales support to Logistics Manager in developing new customer and business opportunities, including pricing and service requirements
  • Lead the efforts supporting the chain of Customer Service issue resolution for Shipper-Driver-End Customer requirements
  • Lead and assist the identifying and implementing of initiatives for process improvement
  • Perform basic accounting functions necessary to account for by-products movements.
  • Operate and maintain a company vehicle in accordance with Corporate Policy.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations
  • Perform other duties as necessary

What do I need to be successful?

  • 0-2 years’ previous logistics transportation experience
  • Demonstrated front line experience with customer Sales and Driver recruitment
  • Or any equivalent combination of experience and training that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.
  • Thorough knowledge of trucking industry including DOT Rules and Regulations
  • Ability to lead and motivate individuals and teams to achieve program and project objectives
  • Demonstrated knowledge of geography, routing, climatology and their associated effects on modal dynamics
  • Demonstrated effective management methods, organizational and team building skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations for corporate and government compliance.
  • Strong critical thinking, negotiation and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of key lane and geographic regions and the factors which affect capacity balance
  • Strong written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to effectively manage and lead assigned staff.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Basic project management and prioritization skills
  • Strong interpersonal and Sales skills to support relationship building, customer growth, and driver recruitment
  • Ability to operate a computer and supporting software

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred

Work Environment

  • This position will work at home and in our Nashville office on a hybrid schedule
  • Must live within a commutable distance to Nashville or willing to relocate to the greater Nashville area
