Description

The Associate Director of Sales is responsible for supporting the Director of Sales and Marketing in executing strategic initiatives to increase room and event revenue for La Posada Hotel. This position plays a key role in developing new business, maintaining strong client relationships, and ensuring the hotel achieves its sales goals in the corporate, government, group, and leisure segments.

Job Duties:

  • Assist in developing and executing the annual sales and marketing plan to meet revenue targets.
  • Actively solicit new business through prospecting, networking, and market research.
  • Support the Director of Sales in managing key accounts and fostering strong client partnerships.
  • Represent the hotel at industry events, trade shows, and sales missions.
  • Respond to RFPs and prepare customized proposals and contracts for potential clients.
  • Conduct property tours and site inspections for prospective customers and event planners.
  • Collaborate with the operations team to ensure smooth execution of group and event bookings.
  • Monitor sales metrics, prepare reports, and participate in revenue meetings.
  • Maintain accurate records in the sales CRM system and track client communications.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to junior members of the sales team as needed.

Requirements:

Education/Formal Training: Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

Experience: 3+ years of hotel sales experience, preferably in a full-service or boutique property.

Skills And Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of local market segments and demand generators in South Texas.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and hotel sales platforms (Delphi, CI/TY, or similar).
  • Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets and develop lasting client relationships.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred due to regional client base.
  • Strong negotiation and relationship-building abilities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple accounts and prioritize effectively.
  • Flexibility to travel and work nontraditional hours as needed.
