We are searching for a full-time Finance Director to join our Client Accounting & Advisory team and assist in servicing several municipal clients in the Central/Southwest suburbs.

Areas Of Responsibility Include
Financial Analysis, Accounting, and Reporting
- Performs monthly budget to actual analysis, projections of revenue and expenditures, capital projects tracking, cash flow needs and long-range planning needs.
- Responsible for oversight and assistance in monthly bank reconciliations and year-end audit preparation.
- Reviews all significant grants, ensuring proper accounting and compliance with grant regulations.
- Responsible for preparation of various annual financial statements, TIF reports, levy limit worksheet, and periodic Board financial reports.
- Supports the budget preparation including coordinating and assisting other department heads with their budget requests, compilation of salary and schedules, budgeting of shared and allocation revenues and expenditures, assist Village Board and Manager during review and adoption process.
- Supervision, oversight, and backup for accounts payable, accounts receivable, utility billing, accounting and financial reporting, and budget processes.
- Responsible for review and recommendation of all financial policies and significant internal controls over financial transactions and reporting.
- Recommends or implements investment strategy to maximize earnings while maintaining liquidity.
- Review and recommendation of revenue changes such as utility rate reviews, changes in fees, or creation.
- Oversight of tax collection processes with staff, calculation of tax settlements, and resolve issues.
- Review financial agreements/contracts, including vendor contracts, lease agreements, and developer loans.
- Coordination of debt issuance process and post issuance compliance and payments.
- Attend Department Head meeting and Village Board meetings as required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
- 7+ years of Municipal Finance or Government accounting experience
- CPA CPFO certification (preferred)
- 1 + years of Supervisory experience is required
- Ability to attend meetings outside of normal business hours occasionally
- Strong verbal & written communication abilities with various levels of management & public speaking
- Consistent ability to exercise independent judgment and problem solve
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and an inclusive/collaborative management style
- Ability to multi-task, establish priorities & organize efficiently
- Highly motivated, self-starter with strong initiative
