Position Summary

Under general supervision, the Patient Service Rep performs a variety of support functions for a department and/or program. Duties may include all or part of the following: Greeting, instructing, directing patients and visitors. Scheduling, registering, and obtaining preauthorization for treatment from insurance, Medicare or other agencies for patients. Serving as liaison between patient and medical support staff. Functioning as cashier, receptionist and referral clerk as well as maintaining records and completing data entry. Monitoring office services and supplies.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience demonstrating the ability to effectively communicate as needed for the position, required
  • Previous clerical, administrative, healthcare, or customer service experience, or equivalent education, required.
