Under the direct supervision and/or delegation of the Optometrist, and/or Eye Clinic Supervisor, assist with pre-visit preparation, health history intake procedures, diagnostic testing and Spanish interpreting. Non-clinical functions include patient scheduling, insurance verification, and cash till duties, and review provider schedule for scheduling conflicts.

Our community health center began as a modest sized medical clinic in Pasco, Washington in 1981. The clinic was founded by a small group of women in the Pasco community who saw the need to serve low income community members who could not afford to pay for Healthcare.
Tri-Cities Community Health has grown into a comprehensive non-profit Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) where we have evolved into a network of community health centers that continue with the foundation TCCH was built on and serve an even more diverse population in the Tri-Cities and surrounding areas.

Essential Functions
- Main responsibilities include: Work with the Optometrist to provide excellent eye care to our patients.
- Work with the Optometrist to provide excellent eye care to our patients
- Ensures clinic readiness and assists with delivery of care and services maintaining a safe environment for patient.
- Follows Tri-Cities Community Health exposure control and blood borne pathogens plans
- Performs departmental policies and procedures
- Interacts, communicates, and intervenes with multidisciplinary team in a purposeful, goal-directed fashion. Works proactively to maximize the effectiveness of resource utilization and patient service delivery.
- Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a department/unit team and intradepartmental to facilitate the department’s ability to meet its goals and objectives.
- Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment
- Ability to carry out all other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 6 months clinical optometry assisting or equivalent
- Required Licenses/Certifications
- CPR/First Aid Certification
- HIV/AIDS training
- Bilingual Spanish/English language skills preferred
- Customer service skills.
- Possess a passion for patient care.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Detail oriented, efficient at multitasking
- Excellent computer skills.
- Excellent communication skills
