This role is a highly motivated Procurement Associate who will plan, develop, and implement procurement activities for assigned vessels and stakeholders. This role will typically be challenged with responsibility of 1 ship and include all activities associated with technical purchase orders. This position will need to handle multiple requests from stakeholder in terms of all tasks associated with tactical purchase orders. This position issues RFx’s, evaluates bids, recommends suppliers, negotiates agreements, ensures compliance with Company and Department policies and procedures, monitors supplier performance and takes corrective action to ensure goods and services are delivered as contracted. This role works with their Supervisor/Manager to establish savings targets, track, meet and report savings in monthly reports and other department related performance metrics such as PO cycle time, invoice discrepancies and Overdue POs.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for tactical procurement operations supporting technical purchase order lifecycle in support of assigned vessels and stakeholders.
  • Responsible for meeting or exceeding assigned key performance indicators.
  • Applies knowledge of supply chain management and global commodities within the technical arena to ensure product delivery and quality, and product problem avoidance and resolution.
  • Responsible to drive effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Builds strong partnerships and working relationships with key stakeholders at all levels, both Shipboard and Shoreside, through frequent value add interactions.
  • Assist with expediting in the escalation of supplier issues and ensures all vendors are paid to terms.

Qualifications:

  • Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, Economics or Science OR Equivalent Experience
  • Procurement or negotiation certification preferred but not required
  • 1-3 years’ experience in tactical sourcing/procurement
  • 1-3 years’ experience in supporting internal and external stakeholders

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience purchasing components with detailed technical specifications
  • Strong purchase order lifecycle skills, price/cost analysis, and logistics process acumen
  • Ability to gather and analyze information skillfully.
  • Proficient in the use of computer business applications such as AMOS, Microsoft Office, and Adobe.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Preferred comfortability with matrixed organizations and working on cross functional teams

Physical Demands: Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.

Travel: No or very little travel likely

This position is classified as “in-office.” As an in-office role, it requires employees to work from a designated Carnival office in South Florida Tuesday through Thursday each week. Employees may work from their homes on Mondays and Fridays. Candidates must be located in (or willing to relocate to) the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area.
