At the VHA we work closely with local governments and other community partners throughout Clark County to address issues of affordable housing and homelessness and help families break the cycle of poverty. We provide affordable housing and housing assistance to low-income residents in Clark County
This Accounting Tech role focuses on Accounts Receivable and supports our mission through your skills and experience as you:
  • Research discrepancies, post adjustments, reconcile resident accounts, and coordinate oversight with property management staff.
  • Manage the collections process for former tenants, including payment agreements, bad debt tracking, and refunds.
  • Ensure compliance with state laws regarding notifications to vacated residents.
  • Invoice affiliated nonprofit organizations for shared costs (payroll, benefits, etc.).
  • Manage VHA receivable accounts with other housing authorities, including collections, adjustments, and reporting.
  • Generate, review, and reconcile invoices and payments for accuracy and compliance.
  • Prepare tenant-related financial reports such as Rent Rolls, Vacancy Loss Journal, Aged Accounts Receivable, and Occupancy Reports.
  • Maintain accurate records and schedules for all accounts receivable activity.
Pay and Benefits
  • A new employee in this position will be paid $23.57 - $25.93 per hour based on experience. In compliance with the Equal Pay and Opportunities Act, the full salary range for this position is $23.57 - $33.00 per hour.
  • Full-time, non-exempt, union-represented position working 40 hours per week in-person/on-site, Monday - Friday.

Requirements

  • AA degree in accounting or related subject plus additional two years of education or experience in accounting or related field required. Candidates who are actively pursuing a relevant degree and are within six months of graduation would be considered to have met this requirement.
  • Governmental, property management, affordable housing, or non-profit industry accounting experience preferred.
