Job Summary

The Warehouse Receiving Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all activities related to the receiving goods and materials into the warehouse. This role ensures that incoming shipments are accurately received, inspected, and stored, maintaining inventory integrity and supporting efficient warehouse operations.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities

  • Supervision & Leadership:
  • Lead and supervise the receiving team, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Assign daily tasks and monitor team performance to ensure productivity and adherence to safety standards.
  • Receiving Operations:
  • Oversee the unloading of shipments, verifying the accuracy of received goods against purchase orders.
  • Inspect incoming materials for quality and compliance with specifications.
  • Coordinate with Quality Control to address any discrepancies or issues with received items.
  • Inventory Management:
  • Ensure accurate logging and tracking of received items in the warehouse management system.
  • Maintain proper storage of materials, optimizing space utilization and ensuring easy access.
  • Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies promptly.
  • Safety & Compliance:
  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure the team adheres to OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
  • Maintain a clean and organized receiving area, addressing any hazards or safety concerns.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records of received shipments, including discrepancies and resolutions.
  • Generate reports on receiving activities and inventory levels for management review.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in receiving operations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to streamline workflows and resolve operational challenges.

Education

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years in warehouse operations, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Forklift certification required; additional certifications in warehouse safety or inventory management are a plus.
  • Active and Valid driver's license, possibly a Texas driver's license, and the ability to pass DOT physicals

Skills/Abilities:

  • Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) Blue Yonder preferred and Microsoft Office Suite; ability to learn new software applications quickly.
  • Leadership: Strong team management and interpersonal skills; ability to motivate and develop staff.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in shipping and inventory tasks.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions promptly.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with team members and other departments.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift and move items ranging from 25 to 75 pounds, with some positions requiring the handling of heavier items such as 160-pound kegs.
  • Manual Dexterity: Frequent use of hands for grasping, handling, and operating equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Movement and Stamina: Standing, walking, bending, stooping, and climbing ladders or stairs for extended periods, often up to 8–11 hours per day.
  • Environmental Exposure: Working in various conditions, including extreme temperatures, humidity, and exposure to dust or fumes.

Travel Requirements

  • Local Travel: Positions like delivery and service support may require local travel within Mont Belvieu and surrounding areas, including the operation of company vehicles.
  • Occasional Overnight Travel: Certain roles may involve occasional overnight travel for training or site visits.
