Equipment Coordinator (Full-Time) - UPMC Magee

Key Details:
- Schedule: Daylight hours, Monday to Friday
- Perks: No nights, weekends, or holidays
- Role Summary: The Equipment Coordinator will play a crucial role in expediting implants for surgery, including tasks such as ordering, unpacking, and reconciling returns.
Responsibilities:
- Communicate daily with clinicians, scheduling office and charge nurses.
- Initiate supply, implant and equipment malfunction reports to the appropriate department, i.e. Maintenance or Biomedical Engineering, under the direction of the clinician.
- Assist with care, cleaning, and maintenance of all specialty equipment, including, but not limited to, lasers, video towers, microscopes, positioning supplies.
- Coordinate vendor communication/appointments as directed by clinician.
- Initiate all implant returns within 48 hours or designated time frame after the completion of case as directed to include re-packaging, labeling and transporting to dock for return.
- Assist in retrieval of unused supplies/implants/equipment and return to designated OR storage daily.
- Escalate problems with supply chain delivery, including, but not limited to backorders, late delivery, missing orders or inventory.
- Coordinate/communication of delivery and inventory requested/required for scheduled cases to include, but not limited to breast implant cases.
- Coordinate the receiving, unpacking and delivery of the supplies/implants/equipment to designated OR storage daily.
- Assist with specialty supply/implants/equipment ordering via ePro access.
- Coordinate the ordering, tracking, monitoring and return processes for specialty supplies/implants/equipment.
- Assist clinicians daily with Supply, Implant and Specialty Equipment:
- High School diploma. Surgical related or supply chain management experience preferred.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
- Act 34
