Hopkins Athletics is multidivisional department with 22 programs competing at the NCAA DIII level and two programs (men’s and women’s lacrosse) competing at the NCAA Division I level (BIG 10 Conference). The department also hosts a variety of robust recreational activities such as club sports, intramurals, and fitness programming.
The Hopkins Athletics department seeks an innovative and forward-thinking Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach. Essential Functions And Responsibilities
- On-court training, development, and coaching and teaching of the sport, including offensive and defensive tactics
- Understand the role of intercollegiate athletics in a highly competitive academic environment and assist student-athletes in achieving exceptionally high athletic and academic goals
- Coordinate player development through skill enhancement in training sessions
- Assist head coach in the development and organization of practice planning and game strategies
- Analyze video and statistical data to further develop and improve individual as well as team performances
- Assist head coach in conducting pre-season, in-season and post-season player and team evaluations
- Monitor year-round identification, academic qualification, and evaluation of prospective student-athletes for the program.
- Continued monitoring of team’s recruiting database and assist in coordinating on-campus recruiting visits for prospects
- Assist in coordinating on-campus recruiting visits for prospects
- Exhibit strong communication and leadership skills and build and sustain positive relationships with student-athletes, faculty, and staff
- Maintain and ensure compliance with the University’s policies, the Centennial Conference policies and the NCAA rules and regulations
- Handle other responsibilities as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Prior experience coaching and recruiting at a high academic institution preferred
- Must have the ability to work nights, weekends, and holiday work
- Travel is also required. A valid drivers’ license and ability to drive a vehicle is required.
