Ellie Mental Health, Mid-Cities is a highly successful outpatient mental health organization that puts the needs of its therapists and patients first. We currently have 2 open clinics located in North Richland Hills & Grapevine. Our therapists provide individual, family & group therapy as well as Telehealth.

Additionally, we provide centralized Shared Services (Contracting & Credentialing, Intake, Scheduling, Billing, Collections) support so the focus can be on the patient.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

We’re looking to add a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to our team to help meet the increasing demand for medication management services at our 2 clinics. The ideal candidate will share our commitment to expanding access to high-quality mental health care as well as comply with the following:

  • Start as a 1099 employee with the option to convert to a W2 employee if full time status is attained.
  • Have a Texas Prescriptive Authority and Collaborative Agreement with a supervising physician in place (we can refer you to a Psychiatrist if you currently do not have an agreement).
  • Maintain Professional malpractice insurance.

Education & Licenses/Certifications Required:

Education:

  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing (MSN or DNP) from an accredited program with a focus in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).


Licenses & Certifications:

  • Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas.
  • Current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license issued by the Texas Board of Nursing.
  • Board certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner – Board Certified (PMHNP-BC) through the ANCC (American Nurses Credentialing Center).
  • Valid DEA registration for prescribing controlled substances. Applicants must also obtain a Texas Controlled Substances Registration (or be eligible to apply).


Required Skills & Experience:

  • Experienced in outpatient psychiatric care across the lifespan.
  • Proficient in psychopharmacology and complex diagnostic workups.
  • Collaborative and communicative within a team of 20+ therapists.
  • Familiar with telehealth platforms and electronic health records (EHR).
  • Able to manage their caseload and time independently in a 1099 role.
  • Skilled in trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing, or similar patient-centered approaches.


Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and formulate DSM-5-TR-based diagnoses.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans with a focus on medication management.
  • Prescribe, adjust, and monitor psychotropic medications for safety and effectiveness.
  • Provide ongoing follow-up and medication management visits.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, including direct communication and coordination with therapists providing individual and family therapy.
  • Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in the EHR system.
  • Comply with state and federal prescribing laws, HIPAA, and scope-of-practice guidelines.
  • Participate in team consultations or case reviews as needed.
