Wage band range $30.00 to $50.00 per hour; however, it is ultimately determined by contract obligations, the scope of the position, the candidate's relevant experience, and internal equity.

The Training Manager carries out the mission of Casa Pacifica as it relates to all training department functions. The Training Manager is responsible for overseeing agency-wide training programs and for assisting leaders in identifying and facilitating positive program and employee development that produce quality practice outcomes. This position is responsible for creating, developing, implementing, and conducting necessary and/or requested Agency training sessions. Ensures the maintenance of training documents and staff records in accordance with regulatory and contractual requirements. Responsible for oversight of all Continuing Education (CE) vendor programs. Organizes and oversees new hire onboarding, orientation, in-service trainings, and trainings to support Agency programs. Proactive monitoring and reporting, and training compliance with Agency training plans and necessary follow-through with staff and supervisors.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (illustrated By Typical Activities)

  • Manages, facilitates, and supports all Agency training needs by keeping up to date on best practices, trends and policies related to human service workforce development.
  • Develops unique training programs to fulfill specific needs and maintain and/or improve job skills.
  • Evaluates individual training and overall training program effectiveness through assessments, surveys, and feedback.
  • Oversight of correspondence with contracted trainers, outside providers, and/or trainees.
  • Oversight of all CE vendor programs including STRTP Administrators, Group Home Administrators, California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT), and American Psychological Association (APA).
  • Maintains records of training and development activities, attendance, results of tests and assessments, and retraining requirements
  • Ensures preparation of monthly, quarterly and end of the year training reports as required by licensing, contract, and accreditation requirements.
  • Assures monitoring of the use of all training equipment and the training rooms.
  • Creates, organizes, plans, and presents various forms of onboarding, orientation, and skills training for staff.
  • Assesses training and employee development needs through surveys, interviews, focus groups, and communication with staff, managers, and supervisors.
  • Purchases training materials and maintains an accurate inventory
  • Works with managers and other departments to develop a comprehensive training plan that meets contractual and legal staff training requirements.
  • Maintains confidentiality in all matters within the organization with respect to personnel, operations, and clients.
  • May perform other duties as assigned from time to time.

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively present and train in front of a variety of audiences.
  • 5 years of experience in the field of training and/or staff development.
  • Experience working in the Human Services field, preferably with foster youth in a residential/group home environment.

  • Knowledge of STRTP Interim Licensing Standards personnel training requirements, a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Suites, a plus.

Valid California Driver's License, California vehicle registration & vehicle insurance with excellent driving record.

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
