As the leadership phase of the campaign begins, the Division of University Advancement is accelerating the hiring of additional Alumni Engagement professionals campus-wide and is excited to build out its team. Responsibilities


The Coordinator of University Advancement Communications, Social Media collaborates with Division of University Advancement departments on social media design, writing, editing and strategy. They are a key member of the University Advancement Communications team, responsible for developing and executing strategic digital engagement efforts that elevate the university’s brand, strengthen alumni and donor relationships and support division goals. Leads organic and paid social media strategy, ensuring cohesive storytelling across platforms, managing campaign performance and collaborating across departments to enhance visibility and engagement. Oversees a robust social media calendar and reports on data analytics of digital communication and outreach. Constantly evaluates industry best practices.

Content: Develops organic content for all DUA social media accounts and for other digital marketing initiatives, including writing and editing copy and basic graphic creation utilizing Canva. Collaborates with internal partners to source, produce and publish high-quality content that resonates with alumni, donors and friends of the university. Actively pursues FSU stories that bring pride to the university by monitoring other social media accounts and online resources and collaborating with campus partners. Attends various DUA events to create and/or curate social media content.

Promotion: Collaborates with DUA colleagues for integrated marketing strategy to promote events, awards, stories, alumni, donors, digital marketing campaigns and solicitations.

Paid Media Campaign Development: Plans and executes targeted paid social campaigns to support division priorities, including fundraising efforts, alumni events and brand awareness initiatives Manages ad creation, audience segmentation A/B testing and real-time optimizations. Coordinates campaign assets and messaging with design, web and editorial teams to ensure strategic alignment and platform best practices.

Social Media Strategy and Management: In partnership with the director of communications, serves as the lead strategist and content manager for all University Advancement social media accounts. Develops and implements strategies and best practices for social media communications and digital marketing. Develops and maintains a comprehensive social content calendar aligned with DUA priorities, University milestones and engagement goals. Researches industry and aspirational best practices to help inform social media plans.

Moderation: Monitors and responds to comments and messages on DUA social media platforms for reputation management, issues management and opportunities for future content. Reports negative feedback or content to leadership.

Analytics and Performance Reporting: Tracks key performance metrics using platform analytics tools (Meta, LinkedIn, etc.), Google Analytics and internal dashboards. Delivers monthly and campaign-specific performance reports with actionable insights. Makes data-informed recommendations to improve digital engagement strategies and drive meaningful outcomes.

Professional Development: Engages with university communicators and peers at other colleges and universities to identify best practices and attends conferences/trainings to improve skills.

Works with DUA communications colleagues to provide guidance and development opportunities for FSU student interns. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications


Bachelor’s degree and two years of experience; or a high school diploma/equivalent and experience equal to six years. (Note: post-high school education can substitute for experience at the equivalent rate.)

  • Valid FL or GA Driver's License or the ability to obtain.

Preferred Qualifications


Two years of experience developing and implementing paid digital marketing campaigns and excellent writing skills.
