ESG and Sustainability Manager

We are looking for a Corporate Sustainability Manager who has experience in designing and leading corporate environmental sustainability efforts and who can also act as a key participant in our overall Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategies and efforts. This is a hybrid position that will be based out of our Tempe, AZ office.

Responsibilities

• Data Management and Compliance:
• Manage the collection and review of all sustainability-related data such as energy use, waste, water, and emissions in accordance with established frameworks such as the GHG Protocol.
• Develop data governance and review processes, including external assurance, for ESG-related data sets and content that is disclosed publicly.
• Develop and manage the data systems for tracking ESG performance and risk.
• Collaborate with Accounting and Audit Teams to integrate governance practices for sustainability data.
• Reporting and Communication:
• Lead the planning and execution of Shutterfly’s sustainability communications and disclosures such as our Purpose & Impact Report, CDP Disclosure, and investor or customer inquiries.
• Monitor the global policy and regulatory landscape and proactively identify emerging regulations that may require ESG reporting or disclosures as a dimension of compliance.
• Serve as a key point of contact for interfaces with stakeholders on the topic of sustainability and corporate social responsibility, including investors, employees, customers, and others.
• Strategy and Implementation:
• Review results from materiality assessments, peer trends and benchmarking, and internal audits or metrics to inform and prioritize sustainability efforts and strategy.
• Serve as the internal leader and “go-to” expert for sustainability, monitoring emerging trends, programs, and issues, and communicating and educating others on sustainability topics.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain Teams to engage suppliers on sustainability and ESG topics and manage climate-related risks and opportunities across the value chain.
• Develop and communicate business cases that support sustainability efforts and programs.
  

The Skills You'll Bring

• 5+ years of sustainability, CSR, or ESG experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities with competing deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders without direct authority as a collaborative business partner.
• Proficient communication and writing skills with a strong attention to detail.
• Robust understanding of relevant ESG frameworks such as GRI, SASB, TCFD, and CDP.
