Job Title: Front Desk Supervisor
Job Summary
The Front Desk Supervisor position is a fast-paced position which requires multi-tasking. Candidate will act as the ‘face’ of the Bishop Dudley House to ensure our guests, visitors, donors, and volunteers receive a heartwarming welcome. The Front Desk Supervisor coordinates all front desk activities, including calls, guest resources and information, directs donors and volunteers to the proper staff and provides administrative support to the Operations Manager and Executive Director. This position will interact with new and existing guests who are seeking shelter at the Bishop Dudley House, offering them information and resources. Our ideal candidate will combine a pleasant personality with a dynamic professional attitude to manage all aspects of the reception area including working with vulnerable people who show signs of substance use disorders and mental health challenges.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Hospitality
- Create and foster a welcoming atmosphere for all guests, volunteers and donors serviced by the Bishop Dudley Hospitality House.
- Provide a brief orientation to the Bishop Dudley Hospitality House by communicating programs and services as well as explain general codes of conduct in an inviting manner.
- Communicate the Bishop Dudley Hospitality House codes of conduct using a positive voice tone, common sense and good judgment.
- Engage guests in positive conversation to learn about their needs and offer our assistance in connecting them with the appropriate resources.
- Invite guests to participate in activities sponsored and supported by the Bishop Dudley Hospitality House.
- Assist in the maintaining a clean environment for all guests and staff.
- Answer Bishop Dudley Hospitality House phones in a polite and professional manner, take messages as needed and direct the caller to the appropriate personnel.
- Assist Executive Director and Operations Manager with miscellaneous administrative tasks and functions.
- Compile monthly daytime statistics for the Bishop Dudley Hospitality House.
- Compile, organize and document donations received by the Bishop Dudley Hospitality House.
- Communicate daily with Operations Manager about incidents and happenings in the reception area.
- Implement conflict resolution and de-escalation skills to defuse crisis situations. Notify the Operations Manager of any maintenance concerns and/or safety concerns that could impact and affect the safety of any person who uses the facility.
- Participate as an active team member and attend all scheduled staff meetings, one on one supervisor meetings and in service training sessions.
- Ensure that your area of responsibility is clean of any debris and all items are stored and secured for security purposes.
- Must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older
- High School Diploma required, advanced degree or experience in hospitality related field preferred
- To be able to perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Excellent leadership and team building skills
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time
- Strong communication skills, with a proven ability to work effectively with a wide range of individuals.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to think strategically, multitask and conform to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines.
