  • The Lean Manufacturing Specialist is responsible for identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives using Lean principles to optimize manufacturing processes, reduce waste, and increase efficiency. This role plays a key part in fostering a culture of continuous improvement across the organization by coaching, training, and leading Lean projects.

  • Lead and facilitate Lean improvement initiatives (Kaizen events, 5S, value stream mapping, SMED, standard work, etc.)
  • Analyze current manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and waste reduction.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement process improvement plans.
  • Train and mentor employees at all levels on Lean tools and methodologies.
  • Monitor and report progress of Lean initiatives using appropriate metrics and KPIs.
  • Support implementation of visual management systems and standard operating procedures.
  • Conduct time and motion studies to support line balancing and process flow improvements.
  • Ensure sustainability of improvements by developing control plans and documenting best practices.
  • Act as a change agent to instill a continuous improvement mindset within the organization.
  • Stay up to date on industry trends and best practices in Lean manufacturing and operational excellence.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE And QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.   • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or related field.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or Black Belt) preferred.
  • Min 3–5 years of experience in manufacturing or operations, with a focus on Lean implementation.
  • Proven success in leading Lean/Kaizen events and continuous improvement projects.
  • Deep knowledge of Lean principles (e.g., 5S, TPM, Kanban, Value Stream Mapping, Poka-Yoke).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence without direct authority.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Minitab).
