At HER Resiliency Center, we give young women ages 18 to 25 who are overcoming hardship a safe environment

where they can receive the support, skills, and resources they need to make positive decisions and thrive.

HER emphasizes peers (young women) being aware of their own needs, while also receiving guidance as they grow

into adulthood. This program is especially geared toward participants sharing their own life experiences, hearing

about the path of others, and learning positive life skills through demonstrating healthy living. A crucial component

of the HER model is for staff to share their own past struggles and victories in order to demonstrate empathy and

understanding toward the participant. Both staff and participants are on a peer level with each other.

Job Summary

The Skills & Strengths Facilitator Lead delivers comprehensive, one-to-one support (case management), and assists

in coaching other Skills & Strengths Facilitators by modeling the essence of the HER Model to achieving outcomes.

The Skills & Strengths Facilitator Lead has the responsibility, under the supervision of the Program Manager, for

working directly to support young women we serve under HER’s Roadmap to Success program which includes one-

to-one support and facilitating workshops in collaboration with other team members. This position requires flexibility

in work hours to meet the needs of the women served. Position requires a vehicle and good driving record.

Performance Responsibilities

Program Management

  • Complete intakes for new peers using a peer based, and trauma-informed approach to build trust and
  • facilitate engagement.
  • Develop an individualized action plan with each young woman based on her presenting immediate needs, her goals and her intake assessment to assist in identifying and prioritizing needs.
  • Intervene and/or model behavior to peers in support of them accomplishing tasks necessary for achieving independence.
  • Facilitate connection to collaborative agencies that can help address peers’ mental health and/or substance
  • use recovery when appropriate. Conduct necessary follow-up to ensure successful outcomes in these
  • domains.
  • Lead and/or co-lead workshops focused on fostering skill development in the lives of the young women.
  • Participate in program evaluation to determine efficacy of individual and group interventions.
  • Complete ongoing training as necessary.
  • Complete documentation on each one-to-one engagement (including phone calls, texts, emails and any other
  • form of communication), workshops, and community activities within 24 hours.
  • Meet weekly with the Program Manager, and outreach team weekly to determine referrals and assignments
  • of new peers.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Lead

  • Model through action the essence of the HER Model to achieve outcomes of the Skills & Strengths Facilitator.
  • Work with the Program Manager and Quality Assurance team on creating and monitoring outcomes in programming in Baltimore.

Education And Experience

Bachelor's Degree.

Experience in working with vulnerable and/or homeless youth.

Education or experience in cultural competency.

Shared lived experience.
