Position Overview

This Scientist will be a key contributor in our algorithm team working on developing and testing new research and product features for our Cardiac Electrophysiology Mapping and Ablation System. The Scientist is responsible for the design, development, test and improvement of proprietary algorithms for all technology sub-systems – signal processing, catheter navigation, geometry build, mapping and ablation. This will involve requirement generation, prototype, design and implement algorithms and test system implementation.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Support the development, testing, and refinement of prototype algorithms designed by our internal engineers, scientists, and external consultants.
• Design and improve algorithms for processing surface and intracardiac electrocardiograms with a focus on accuracy and robustness.
• Collaborate and contribute to the development of algorithms for localization and navigation of devices introduced into the supraventricular chambers of the heart using impedance and magnetic fields.
• Contribute to the development of algorithms that compensate for respiration and body motion, ensuring algorithms stability and performance under dynamic conditions.
• Collaborate and contribute to the design and validation of testing protocols for evaluating navigation accuracy and magnetic sensor calibration.
• Work closely with the software engineering team to implement algorithms into computationally efficient, “real-time” operation.
• Rapidly develop and iterate functional prototypes to demonstrate algorithm feasibility and guide downstream development.
• Clearly present algorithm design, testing methods, and results to cross-functional team members.
• Maintains thorough documentation of algorithm design, updates, and system requirements throughout the development lifecycle.
  
  

Education, Experience And Skills Required

• Bachelor's or higher in a scientific/engineering discipline; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of related experience.
• Experience with MATLAB, C/C++, for signal processing, data acquisition and analysis, and algorithm development.
• Ability to explain complex architecture, design patterns and new technology to technical team members
• Demonstrates technical expertise and implementing innovative solutions. Regularly collaborates with others and provides independent thought in suggesting and influencing design and research strategies. Works on complex problems in which analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation and may impact future concepts and technology. May be required to actively contribute to regulatory filings, patent applications and other industry related publications. Demonstrates high level of strategic and global thinking.

Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum new hire pay for the position located in California. Within the range, individual pay is determined by location, additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
