Job Purpose
In your role as a Broker Account Representative, you will be joining a fast-paced broker team that is responsible for managing large broker accounts—national waste clients that operate across multiple locations. You will be the central point of contact, ensuring excellent service, accurate reporting, and timely support for bids, pricing, and requests.
Duties and Responsibilities
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with broker partners representing national or regional clients.
- Ensure each account’s service expectations and communication needs are met across all active locations.
- Manage a high volume of email communications daily.
- Respond promptly to inquiries, concerns, and service-related issues with professionalism and urgency.
- Act as the liaison between brokers, internal departments, and operations.
- Work with the sales team to develop competitive and accurate bids for new and existing broker clients.
- Compile pricing, service coverage, and operational data into formal proposals.
- Maintain and create Excel-based reports that track service levels, pricing data, account activity, and performance metrics. Use data to support account decisions and highlight trends or issues.
- Troubleshoot service problems or billing discrepancies and coordinate with internal teams (e.g., operations, dispatch, customer service) to ensure timely resolution.
- Collaborate closely with the sales, operations, and customer service departments to maintain seamless service delivery for broker accounts.
- Other projects and tasks as assigned
Qualifications
The successful candidate profile includes:
- 2+ years of experience in account management, sales support, or customer service—preferably in the waste industry, logistics, or a service-based B2B environment
- Experience working with national or multi-location accounts preferred
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, formulas)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with CRM systems
- Ability to manage a high volume of requests, prioritize effectively, and meet tight deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a fast-paced team
