The Role you ’ll contribute :

Financial Counselor, under the direct supervision of the Customer Service Manager, provides financial counseling and education to patients and their families that visit the facility for assistance. Reviews In-Patient daily census report and identifies all uninsured patients and Medicaid Share of Cost (SOC) patients. Collects required documents from patients or their representatives in obtaining financial assistance or approval for other programs. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

The Value you’ll bring To The Team:

• Review daily census and prepares, process, and follow cases (or application packets) for all patients who request assistance. Counsels patients or representative on their hospital accounts to meet requirements for various charity programs to include AdventHealth Financial Assistance Program or other state funded programs and ensure all proper documentation is obtained for review.
• Review daily census and identify In-Patients with Medicaid Share of Cost (SOC) for bill tracking and submission to Department of Children and Families (DCF). Approved patients will be awarded full Medicaid benefits.
• Review daily census and identify patients with Medicaid eligibility and have delivered a newborn during the current admission. Take action to addnewborn to the guarantors Medicaid.
• Maintains effective rapport with Case Management staff, aiding in proper discharge planning and ensuring all financial assessments are updated.
• Reviews daily census for all uninsured patients and/or under insured patients to determine intervention needed. Meets with all uninsured In-Patients by completing a thorough financial assessment to ensure we have screened those patients for county, state, and federal programs. Gathers required financial information by phone or by direct interview in a professional manner, demonstrating regard for dignity of all patients and family members.
  
  

The expertise and e xperiences you’ll need to succeed :

Minimum Qualifications :

• High School Grad or GED Required
• 3 experience in healthcare setting
