Job Description
The Maintenance Technician works independently and with other plant personnel to perform preventative, predictive, and routine maintenance tasks. He/she troubleshoots issues, repairs failures of production and facilities equipment, and ensures maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness. All tasks will be performed while supporting the policies, goals, and objectives of the company.

The Maintenance Technician works independently and with other plant personnel to perform preventative, predictive, and routine maintenance tasks. He/she troubleshoots issues, repairs failures of production and facilities equipment, and ensures maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness. All tasks will be performed while supporting the policies, goals, and objectives of the company.
Responsibilities
- Repairs and maintains plant machinery and equipment such as mixers, conveyors, compressors, pumps, hydraulic lines, hoses, and piping and tubing systems
- Repairs or replaces control devices such as switches, photo eyes, proximity sensors, pushbuttons, and contactors as needed
- Performs work order repairs, inspections, and adjustments on all production and facilities equipment
- Sets up and operates welders, drill presses, grinders, hand tools, and other metal working equipment
- Fabricates and modifies new and existing equipment
- Develops, prepares, and presents recommendations and reports as requested
- Participates in plant safety, health, and environmental programs
- Ensures all safety procedures, practices, and regulations are followed before, during, and after all processes to foster a positive safety culture by having a safety-first mindset and approach during execution of activities
- Performs other duties and special projects as assigned
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanics, and basic electrical repair
- Ability to read and interpret documents and drawings
- Strong mathematical skills to include basic algebra for calculation of electrical/electronic equations as applicable
- Experience demonstrating successful support of positive safety culture
- Expertise and proficiency with basic office computer software and the ability to learn how to effectively use maintenance software to input data and research parts highly preferred
- Post-secondary education and/or a technical trade certificate a plus
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation(s)
