Job Overview

J.S. Paris Excavating, Inc. is actively seeking an experienced Main Line Excavator Operator to join our Commercial Utility Crew. In this role, you will play a key part in the installation of underground utilities, including water, sewer, and storm drainage systems. We are looking for a skilled operator with proven experience working in deep trenches using trench boxes (including stacked boxes) who can operate safely and efficiently in a fast-paced utility installation environment.

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To

• Safely operate main line excavation equipment for the installation of underground utilities (water, sewer, storm drainage)
• Perform excavation in deep trenches using trench boxes and stacked boxes as required
• Maintain a safe and efficient work environment to minimize the risk of injury, property damage, or loss of life
• Operate equipment in varying site and trench conditions
• Follow direction from Supervisors and collaborate with utility pipe crew
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by Supervisors
• Adapt to multiple project locations throughout the Greater Pittsburgh area
  
  

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience working on utility pipe crews, specifically as a main line digger
• Proven experience working in deep trench environments with trench boxes
• Ability to work safely and effectively in fast-paced utility installation settings
• Physical fitness and endurance to perform labor-intensive tasks
• Ability to climb on and off equipment safely and work in all weather conditions
• Willingness to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and dedication to quality work
• Must comply with Drug-Free Workplace requirements and pass a Pre-Employment Drug Screen
• Flexibility to work various schedules and job sites around the Greater Pittsburgh area

Work Schedule

• Full-Time, Monday through Friday
• 8-hour shifts with potential for overtime and weekend work as needed
• Frequent 50-hour work weeks, including some Saturdays

• Onsite - Greater Pittsburgh area
• Must have the ability to commute to Cleveland, OH 44109 and surrounding project sites
