Overview of the Team

The Quality Engineering team is a critical part of IPCs product delivery lifecycle. We are a passionate group of engineers focused on ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of our SaaS platform. Our team partners closely with Product, Engineering, and DevOps to design comprehensive test strategies, build robust automation frameworks, and implement best-in-class quality practices. Role Overview

As the Manager of Quality Engineering, you will be responsible for the strategic planning, design and implementation of the QE plan for upcoming releases. In this leadership role, you will lead a team of quality engineers, collaborate cross-functionally with infrastructure, operations, development and product management teams to ensure the delivery of robust, scalable, and high-quality IPC software products. You will drive quality across the entire software development lifecycle. This role is both strategic and hands-on, with a strong focus on functional tests and continuous improvement.

How You Will Make an Impact

As the Manager of Quality Engineering, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the quality culture at IPC. You’ll lead the evolution of our testing strategy to support our rapidly growing SaaS platform. Your leadership will directly influence the speed and reliability of our software releases, ensuring that our customers consistently receive a seamless and high-quality product experience. By mentoring your team, optimizing processes, and collaborating cross-functionally, you’ll help build a quality-first mindset across the organization—enabling us to innovate faster, reduce risk, and deliver with confidence.

Essential Skills and Experience to be Successful in the Role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 8+ years of experience in quality engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Ability to lead, mentor, and inspire a team of manual testers. Skilled at assigning priorities, tracking progress and developing individual members ‘strengths.
  • Proven ability to define test strategies, create comprehensive test plans, and manage test execution for complex, cross functional software systems.
  • Deep understanding of manual testing methodologies, test case design, exploratory testing, user acceptance and boundary testing.
  • Strong skills identifying, documenting, tracking defects and collaborating with development teams to ensure issues are well documented and verified once resolved.
  • Keen focus on usability, user experience, and customer value.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to clearly report defects, status, and risks. Works effectively with developers, product managers and business analysts.
  • Passion for improving QA processes, test case efficiency, and reporting practices. Promotes consistency, traceability, and accountability in test documentation.
  • Experience in a SaaS environment with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
  • Comfortable operating in Agile/Scrum and Hybrid environments. Experience in PI planning, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and participating in retrospectives.
  • Strong knowledge of software testing (unit, integration, UI, performance, security).
  • Familiarity with tools such as Zephyr, TestRail, Xray, Jira, Confluence, and defect-tracking systems. Able to design maintain structured test case repository.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality results.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Partner with engineering and product teams to ensure requirements are clear, testable, and met with high quality.
  • Monitor and report on key quality metrics and continuously identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Own the roadmap for QA tools, frameworks, and infrastructure.
  • Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and regulatory standards as applicable.
  • Strong expertise with telecom protocols such as SIP, RTP.
  • Hands on knowledge on VoIP platforms, soft switches, PBX systems.
  • Familiarity with cloud-native telecom architectures. (Kubernetes-based microservices, AWS, Azure, Docker)
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and workflow automation tools (e.g.; Terraform, Ansible)
  • Experience with CI/CD pipeline solutions (e.g.; Jenkins, GitHub)
  • Experience with web service integration protocols and version control (e.g.; GIT)
  • Experience with real-time monitoring and alerting (e.g.; Prometheus, ELK Stack, Elasticsearch, Logstash).
  • Functional understanding of cloud networking principles, including firewalls, VPCs, secure gateways and more.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, iterative development environment.
  • Dynamic and able to work effectively in a team environment.

Additional Information:
