Description

The Heritage Building Maintenance Construction Cleaner is responsible for performing a variety of janitorial tasks daily. This position would take daily direction from our Special Services Manager and our Assistant Director of Day Operations. This team member needs to be comfortable working independently and with a team. Number of team members needed will vary by assignment. This team member will be expected to implement and complete job assignments, work tickets, and scope of work requirements as needed for the assigned job(s).

Schedule is expected to be 7am-3:30pm Monday through Friday. Occasionally weekend work may be required.

Daily job responsibilities/functions may include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing surfaces.
  • Clean and disinfect restrooms, kitchens, and common areas.
  • Replenish supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
  • Empty trash and recycling bins and ensure proper disposal.
  • Operate cleaning equipment, including floor buffers, carpet cleaners, and pressure washers.
  • Remove large debris and trash.
  • Dust walls, baseboards, air vents, cabinets, etc.
  • Clean light fixtures/ceiling fans.
  • Glass/Window Cleaning.
  • Various other construction cleaning tasks may apply.
  • Report maintenance issues or safety hazards to the supervisor promptly.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations and company policies.

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with cleaning chemicals, supplies, and equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards of cleanliness.
  • Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Must have reliable transportation and ability to get to work site as scheduled.
  • Ability to pass client and company specific background check requirements.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

Working Environment

Duties are carried out in multiple environments, often alongside individuals with differing responsibilities, communication styles, and capabilities.

Physical Demands

  • This position requires regular physical activity, including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and reaching for extended periods.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent use of hands and arms to operate cleaning tools and equipment.
  • Ability to climb ladders or stairs and work in confined or elevated spaces as needed.
  • Must be able to tolerate exposure to cleaning chemicals, dust, and varying temperatures.
  • Must be able to see and hear well enough to do the job safely and notice what’s happening around them.

Assignment Length

This is a temporary/seasonal job assignment lasting up to 4 months dependent on the projects assigned. HR will communicate with the employee as we approach the end of the project and will discuss opportunities to continue employment in alternative positions if available. Alternate positions are not guaranteed. If an alternate placement is offered, employee’s wage and schedule are not guaranteed to remain the same.
