General Summary

Serves as a liaison between the member, the Credit Union and the CUSO clients in the Indirect Lending department. Responsible for conducting interviews with dealers and/or members then processing the loan request in the system, accurately preparing the documentation for closing and monitoring dealer activity.

Essential Functions

  • Represent the Credit Union to the dealers, members and CUSO clients in a courteous and professional manner and provide prompt, efficient, and accurate service in the processing of loan requests.
  • Provide by telephone, general and specific service-related information concerning Credit Union services or policies.
  • Respond to members, dealers and CUSO clients' requests, problems and complaints, and/or directs them to the proper person for specific information and assistance.
  • Open new accounts and service existing accounts. Set up new account files and provide members with all necessary information for membership ensuring that membership fee is collected.
  • Establish a system to follow up with Indirect members to solicit new business.
  • Ensure dealer checks and ACH batches are produced accurately and in a timely fashion and proceed funds are scheduled for either pick up or delivery.
  • Work with Consumer Lending to develop and enrich communication lines to provide prompt, efficient service to new and current members.
  • Conduct interview with member or dealer assessing loan request to accurately represent request to Underwriter obtaining all necessary information to validate loan documentation matches what was originally presented.
  • Prepare loan documentation in an efficient and timely fashion.
  • Maintains work in an orderly fashion documenting progress on each application.
  • Ensures completed applications are prepared and ready for the optical process.
  • Maintain regular contact with dealers to ensure loan volume and loan quality are enforced.
  • Maintain updated manuals, policies and procedures for program (department).
  • Conduct orientation interviews and quality control audits on Credit Union services and programs with each new Credit Union member.
  • Provide indirect production reports and reserve reports on a recurring basis.

Job Specifications

  • Professional, well-developed interpersonal skills necessary for servicing Credit Union members and projecting a positive image as representative for the Credit Union.
  • Work requires extensive knowledge of all Credit Union products and services. These characteristics are normally acquired through completion of a high school education plus six months of related experience in the member service and/or teller area of a credit union or financial institution.
  • Intermediate mathematical skills required (calculations and concepts involving decimals, percentages, fractions, etc.).
  • Must have thorough knowledge of Consumer and Indirect Loan Policies. Should incorporate any updates or modifications in policy into daily operational practices.
  • Moderate level of computer skills and software knowledge.
  • Must have ability to navigate through DSUI, Meridian Link, and DealerTrack to answer any account questions or inquiries.

Physical Requirements

  • This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, printers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Additionally, this job will be required to operate a vault, ATM for balancing process, cash counter, cash advance machine and coin machine.
  • This position requires manual dexterity, the ability to type and remain in a seated position for long periods of time. Must be able to lift files and open filing cabinets. Should be able to lift full boxes of work. This position requires some bending, stooping or standing as necessary.
