The Logistics Specialist will manage customer accounts and daily operations including shipment tendering through final paperwork. A successful Specialist will develop strategies and build relationships with customers and carriers that will optimize supply chain efficiency, increase reliability, and minimize costs. The Logistics Specialist will operate in a role that is highly relationship oriented, operational, and analytical.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Plan and schedule transportation for inbound and outbound shipments
  • Act as the main point of contact for customers providing proactive communication over the phone, via email, and in person as necessary
  • Provide customers with shipment information and ensure changes to orders are acknowledged and acted upon in a timely manner
  • Provide quick and effective solutions to resolve transportation delays and complications
  • Assist with shipment documentation including BOLs, labels, and invoices
  • Work effectively and collaboratively with all departments and team members
  • Utilize Transportation Management Systems to track shipment operations, communications, and develop weekly/monthly reports and data analysis
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and develop strategic solutions with customers and carriers


Experience And Qualifications

  • High School Diploma Required
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in logistics, business, supply chain, or engineering is highly preferred
  • Minimum 1-year third-party logistics experience preferred
  • Minimum 1-year sales and/or customer service experience preferred
  • Experience conducting business over the phone highly preferred

  • Proven ability to work independently and be a team player in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong negotiation and persuasive skills
  • Sense of urgency when resolving customer issues
  • Attention to detail without sacrificing accuracy
  • Ability to problem-solve and manage multiple tasks in a high-stress environment while hitting KPI’s
  • Strong people skills including ability to build and maintain relationships with customers and carriers
  • Determination and tenaciousness with strong work ethic, self-motivation, and sales drive
