Under the supervision of the Laboratory Supervisor the primary responsibility of the Inventory Administrator is to manage and maintain the inventory of microbiological supplies, reagents, and equipment essential for laboratory function.

This is a safety sensitive position as defined by state and federal laws that will require working with hazardous materials and/or handling medicine. As a "safety sensitive" classification, you will be subject to drug and alcohol testing, including random testing. Marijuana is one of the substances included in the drug panel screening. Possession of a medical marijuana license will not excuse you from the testing process, or the consequences of testing positive for marijuana.

This is a full-time position. Days and hours are Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Essential Functions...

  • Maintain a comprehensive inventory of all lab supplies, equipment, and consumables.
  • Monitor supply levels and reorder points to prevent stockouts and overstock situations.
  • Organize and label storage areas for easy identification and access.
  • Collaborate with laboratory staff to understand their supply needs and preferences.
  • Maintain stock levels within Microbiology labs.
  • Ensure that all supplies are properly stored according to safety guidelines.
  • Prepare and submit purchase orders to approved suppliers based on inventory needs.
  • Track order deliveries and resolve any discrepancies or delays.
  • Generate inventory reports and share them with relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure that all inventory-related activities comply with safety and regulatory guidelines.

Position Requirements...

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 0-2 years of experience in related field/occupation is preferred
  • Data entry experience preferred.

Work Environment...

This job operates in a professional office environment. Attendance at the office is required. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines as well as flatbed carts.

Physical Demands...

  • This role is both sedentary and mobile. It requires lifting, loading / unloading, walking, and some filing. This would require the ability to lift and move supplies, and bend or stand as necessary.
  • Ability to lift and/or move 50 pounds.
  • Ability to have full body movement.
  • Must have vision and hearing corrected to meet minimum acceptable norms.
