POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Carries out general housekeeping activities essential to keeping University Health facilities clean and orderly. All work will be done in accordance with Joint Commission and Texas Department of Health guidelines. Promptly and efficiently performs assigned duties and accepts emergency reassignments. Reports all maintenance defects to the Plant Engineering Department. Use equipment and supplies as directed and follow all the instructions listed on the Material Safety Data Sheets. Identify and report all chemical/solution spills and discarded needles/syringes. Assist the team leader in cleaning up and disposal as required. Complies with University Health and departmental policies and regulations. Maintains good interpersonal and guest relations skills.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
The ability to read, write, and speak English is required. Completion of work-related on-the-job vocational training is preferred. Six months of institutional housekeeping experience is preferred. Ability to fill liquid soap, toilet paper towel dispensers, and other dispensers required. Ability to operate cleaning equipment required.
