The Opportunity
As the Head of Business Excellence, you will lead the charge in optimizing business processes and driving operational excellence at our main US Distribution facility in Louisville, Kentucky. Reporting directly to the Site Head, you will spearhead the development and implementation of the site business excellence strategy aligned with the company's vision and objectives.
Your role involves partnering with site leaders to drive informed decision-making and delivering value across the organization. You will be instrumental in defining and embedding business excellence within the site's operational functions and throughout the organization, promoting a culture of collaboration, agility, and efficiency.
What You’ll Do
Strategic Leadership and Team Management:
The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Louisville, Kentucky is $125,200 - $232,400. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. What You’ll Do
Strategic Leadership and Team Management:
- Define and implement the business excellence strategy aligned with the company's vision and objectives.
- Lead cross-functional teams to drive operational improvements and ensure consistency across all business units (Commercial Parcel Distribution, Clinical Distribution and Inbound / Outbound Logistics Operations).
- Collaborate with senior management to identify areas of improvement and develop action plans.
- Manage a high-performing team with direct and indirect reports, facilitating execution of Supply Chain business operations.
- Build adaptable and lean business processes for Supply Chain transformation.
- Benchmark industry standards for supply chain excellence.
- Develop and implement improved warehouse and distribution supply chain processes and KPIs based on data analysis.
- Improve inventory management, order fulfillment, and distribution capabilities to achieve optimal efficiency.
- Ensure Supply Chain strategies align with corporate strategies and portfolio life cycles.
- Enhance customer satisfaction by streamlining distribution processes and optimizing supply chain operations.
- Lead efforts to design systems for inventory, supply, and demand visibility across warehouses and distribution centers.
- Oversee analysis and redesign of business processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve customer satisfaction.
- Establish and maintain a system for continual improvement, promoting Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Integrate supply chain strategies with clinical and commercial business requirements, finance, and digital expectations.
- Represent Global Supply Chain in key SAP programs and support regional and central supply chain functions with continuous improvement.
- Establish and monitor KPIs and deploy a control tower for warehouse business processes.
- Develop the site digital strategy and roadmap to stay ahead of industry trends.
- Act as a change agent and dynamic leader, managing complexity and urgency to drive digital transformation and operational efficiency.
- Engage with internal departments (e.g., Operations, Quality, Site Services, Customer Service) to drive collaborative initiatives and gain insights.
- Maintain relationships with external partners, regulatory bodies, and customers to ensure compliance and enhance business opportunities.
- Influence and guide department heads and team leaders to adopt best practices and drive cultural change.
- Exercise autonomy in decision-making related to process improvements and project initiatives.
- Provide strategic guidance and recommendations to executive leadership on business performance and improvement opportunities.
- Utilize data-driven approaches for informed decision-making by leveraging stakeholder inputs.
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- Advanced degree (MBA or Master's) preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in business process improvement, operational excellence, working in an operational environment; ideally distribution
- At least 10 years of managerial experience, leading cross-functional teams and influencing senior management.
- Extensive knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proven experience in strategic planning, supply chain optimization, warehouse management, and process improvement.
- Extensive experience in manufacturing or operations management, ideally distribution and warehousing.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities with a track record of driving organizational change and improving business performance.
