About the Role:

Join Merit Technologies as a Comptroller in Greenville, SC, and play a crucial role in managing our financial operations. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to the financial health of a dynamic tech company that values innovation and integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Oversight: Manage and oversee all accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and financial reporting.
• Budget Management: Develop, implement, and monitor annual budgets and long-term financial forecasts in collaboration with department heads.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP or relevant standards.
• Audit and Compliance: Coordinate internal and external audits; ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations.
• Internal Controls: Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure the integrity of financial processes.
• Policy Development: Develop and enforce financial policies, procedures, and systems to support sound financial management.
• Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor accounting and finance staff, promoting professional development and high performance.
• Stakeholder Communication: Present financial results and analysis to senior leadership, board members, and other stakeholders.
  
  
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
• CPA or CMA certification strongly preferred
• 7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including management roles
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance
• Proficiency with financial software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or ERP systems)
