A growing Private Equity-backed industrial company is looking for a Vice President of Finance to join their group. Reporting directly to the CFO and CEO, this pivotal role will be instrumental in scaling our finance operations, implementing best practices, and providing critical financial insights to drive growth and profitability.


The ideal candidate is a proactive leader who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys building and optimizing financial processes, and possesses a strong blend of technical accounting expertise and strategic financial acumen.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of financial operations, including accounting practices, budget development, credit assessment, financial reporting, and the establishment of robust internal controls.
  • Supervise daily accounting functions, covering general ledger activities, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
  • Direct the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting cycles, ensuring full adherence to GAAP.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive financial statements and investor reports to the CFO, offering clear and actionable insights into the company's financial standing.
  • Conduct thorough credit analyses for new customers and continuously monitor payment performance for existing clients.
  • Oversee the reconciliation of all inventory types: finished goods, work-in-progress, and raw materials.
  • Verify the accuracy of physical inventory counts and reported valuations, investigating and explaining any discrepancies.
  • Partner with external auditors and tax advisors to ensure regulatory compliance and timely submissions.
  • Develop and implement advanced accounting practices to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and transparency.
  • Lead and mentor a team of two accounting professionals, fostering their professional growth and ensuring high-quality performance.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
  • CPA designation is strongly preferred.
  • A minimum of 8-10 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven hands-on experience in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment, ideally within a Private Equity-backed company.
  • Demonstrated ability to build, scale, and optimize financial operations within an organization.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, financial modeling).
  • Experience with multiple accounting ERP software systems is essential.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and experience in preparing financial statements.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly to various stakeholders.
  • A collaborative mindset and a passion for continuous improvement.


Compensation: $170,000-$200,000

Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
