You will have a home office but be required to visit the corporate office based in Pasadena, CA for in person days (20 days per year) plus some travel (up to 10%) to the office and to on-site client schools for any company events and Open Enrollment support activities

Hours - Monday through Friday - 8am - 5pm - PST
Hourly pay rate range - $25.00 & $30.00 hourly pay rate. Depending on related experience
Essential Functions include, but are not limited to the following:*
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:
- Conducts new hire benefits orientation and open enrollment presentations
- Creates and updates HR benefits information including employee benefits folder(s) as needed
- Maintains and updates retirement plan data information and assists in annual retirement plan audits
- Assists in the management of the annual Group Insurance Agreement (GIA) Trust audit
- Responsible for reconciling and coding monthly insurance carrier invoices to ensure invoicing matches the benefits database
- Serves as the primary point of contact for employees, clients and vendors regarding benefit related inquiries, providing guidance and resolving issues
- Prepares and distributes communications, notifications, and documentation related to benefits and leaves programs
- Stays up to date on federal, state and local laws and regulations related to employee benefits and leaves of absence, ensuring company compliance
- Assists in the full cycle administration and tracking of FMLA, CFRA, PDL, ADA Personal Leaves, Company Leaves, and all other applicable leaves of absence(s)
- Maintains accurate and confidential employee records related to benefits and leaves of absence
- Additional projects related to Benefits and Leaves of Absence as needed
- Knowledge of applicable state and federal leave laws and regulations including but not limited to FMLA, CFRA, PDL, COBRA,
- Knowledge of employee benefit programs, including health insurance and retirement plans
- Knowledge of relevant state, federal and local laws and regulations such as FMLA, CFRA and ADA
- Ability to communicate with co-workers, clients, staff and business contacts in a courteous and professional manner
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining courtesy and professionalism
- Ability to prioritize and work independently in a fast-paced, multi-task environment with minimal supervision
- Ability to exercise reasonable judgment without direct supervision
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and demonstrate strict confidentiality
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written & oral communication skills
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:
- Proficient knowledge of MS Office, Google Suite and HRIS database(s)
- College degree in Human Resources or related field
- High school diploma or its equivalent
- 1-2 years experience preferably in benefits, retirement plans and/or leaves of absences
