Position Summary

The Business Analyst’s primary objective is to help design technology solutions in a cost-effective way by determining the requirements of a project or program and communicating the information clearly to management.
Essential Responsibilities
- Translate business requirements into technical requirements to guide the development of new features, systems, and enhancements and upgrades
- Collaborate with stakeholders and end users to help identify business, financial, and operations objectives
- Work closely with developers and quality control team members to ensure final deliverables are in line with business requirements
- Improves systems already in place by studying current practices, identifying problems, designing modifications and writing improved procedures.
- Designs protocols by analyzing requirements; constructing workflow charts and diagrams; studying system capabilities; writing specifications.
- Take complex problems, break them down into smaller parts, and problem solve to come up with a whole, integrated, and strategic solution
- Manage and map out integrations between multiple applications/teams
- Defines project requirements by identifying project milestones, phases, and elements
- Provide direction and oversight of project completion
- Calculate Forecasted and Actual project costs/ROI
- Monitors project progress by tracking activity; resolving problems; publishing reports and recommending actions.
- Orchestrate Retrospectives for continuous improvement
- Provides references for users by writing and maintaining user documentation; providing help desk support and training users.
- Motivated self-starter with a passion for asking why and figuring out how to best solve a problem

- Highly proficient technical writing capabilities
- Experience creating business cases, business process diagrams, wireframes, and other project documentation.
- Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
- Strong change management skills focusing on scope control
- Data analysis and reporting
Minimum Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, or related field, required.
- Minimum of 1-year relevant experience.
- Mortgage or banking industry experience, preferred.
- Proficient with Adobe and MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio.
- 5 years’ relevant experience in business analysis and requirements gathering for technology projects.
- 2+ years of experience with Agile software development life cycle.
- Experience with Jira or related tasking/ticketing systems.
- Mortgage or banking industry experience.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Physical Demands:
- Mostly sedentary, however, while performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop; talk and hear.
- Extensive reading and computer use is expected more than 50% of the time. Receiving and expressing detailed information verbally, in person and by telephone is essential. Must be able to verbally communicate effectively with others.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
- Regular attendance is necessary and essential to this position.
- Professional atmosphere in a corporate setting.
- Routinely uses office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinet and fax machine.
- Care must be observed while driving – absolutely no texting while driving.
