Description

Position Summary:

Phoenix Heart is seeking a detail-oriented, highly organized Research Assistant to support clinical research activities within our Device Clinic. This position plays a vital role in supporting the coordination and execution of studies related to cardiac devices and patient outcomes. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment and have strong data entry, communication, and analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the coordination of clinical trials and observational studies involving cardiac devices (e.g., pacemakers, ICDs, loop recorders).
  • Support the Research Coordinator in patient recruitment, screening, and scheduling study visits in compliance with protocols.
  • Maintain accurate and organized documentation, including informed consents, case report forms (CRFs), and source documentation.
  • Collect, enter, and manage study data into electronic databases with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Assist with monitoring visits, audits, and study close-outs by ensuring all required documentation is complete and available.
  • Serve as a liaison between the Device Clinic, sponsors, and IRBs as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with GCP (Good Clinical Practice), HIPAA, and institutional policies.
  • Collaborate with the clinical team to track adverse events, follow-ups, and device-related outcomes.
  • Maintain inventory and study supplies, ensuring proper storage and labeling of investigational devices and materials.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, biology, or a related field.
  • Prior experience in a clinical research or cardiology setting.
  • Knowledge of clinical research protocols, medical terminology, and electronic medical records (EMR).

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Standard clinical and administrative office setting.
  • Requires long periods of sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Occasional travel between clinic locations may be necessary.
