Position Overview
Frontwave Arena is seeking a dynamic, strategic, and hands-on Director of Marketing to lead all marketing initiatives for the San Diego Clippers (NBA G League), San Diego Sockers (MASL), and Frontwave Arena. This role is responsible for building and executing integrated marketing strategies that drive brand awareness, ticket sales, fan engagement, and overall revenue across all properties.

Marketing Strategy & Campaign Execution
Frontwave Arena is seeking a dynamic, strategic, and hands-on Director of Marketing to lead all marketing initiatives for the San Diego Clippers (NBA G League), San Diego Sockers (MASL), and Frontwave Arena. This role is responsible for building and executing integrated marketing strategies that drive brand awareness, ticket sales, fan engagement, and overall revenue across all properties.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing Strategy & Campaign Execution
- Develops and leads strategic marketing plans across paid, owned, and earned media for all properties.
- Collaborates with internal teams and external partners to ensure execution aligns with brand goals and revenue targets.
- Oversees budgeting, media planning, and campaign performance analysis.
- Serves as the brand steward for all three entities, ensuring consistency and resonance across all touchpoints.
- Partners with the creative team to produce compelling content for digital, social, advertising, and in-venue channels.
- Develops fan engagement and promotional campaigns that elevate brand affinity and game-day experience.
- Oversees content and distribution strategy across web, email, app, social media, in-venue signage, and third-party platforms.
- Executes best-in-class practices and tools for audience targeting, engagement, and performance optimization.
- Drives ticket sales, per caps, premium inventory, and lead generation for season memberships and private events.
- Works closely with ticketing and partnerships teams to develop sales collateral and support go-to-market strategies.
- Collaborates on concert and event marketing with the Sr. Director of Event Marketing & Programming.
- Supports community marketing efforts ensuring alignment with brand messaging and partner goals.
- Acts as the marketing liaison for corporate partners, community organizations, and league contacts (NBA, G League, MASL).
- Leads the marketing team in a fast-paced, multi-brand environment with a focus on execution, accountability, and innovation.
- Stays on top of trends in sports marketing, technology, fan engagement, and digital content to keep the organization ahead of the curve.
- Reports regularly on campaign performance and key metrics.
- 7+ years of professional marketing experience, with 5+ years in sports or entertainment marketing.
- Proven success in leading marketing teams and managing multi-channel campaigns.
- Strong background in brand management, advertising, creative development, and audience engagement.
- Experience working across diverse departments and stakeholder groups, including sales, partnerships, community, and creative.
- Deep understanding of digital marketing platforms (Google, Meta, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, TikTok) and campaign performance metrics.
- Highly organized, resourceful, and detail-oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience using data to inform marketing strategy and campaign optimization.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator) a plus.
- Experience with website CMS platforms; ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Google Ads and Meta certifications are a plus.
