Job Description: We are looking for a strong individual to assist the general manager with the day-to-day operations of the restaurant; including staff management, customer service and inventory.
Responsibilities:
- Hire, train and mentor new staff, set job expectations and conduct performance reviews
- Resolve guest questions and complaints and ensure a positive dining experience
- Place orders for ingredients, utensils and equipment and manage inventory
- Schedule shifts and assign table sections to waitstaff
- Manage payroll
- Ensure the restaurant follows health and safety regulations
- Record income and expenses, and balance cash registers
- Coordinate between back- and front- of- house staff
- Use problem-solving and decision-making skills to resolve issues
Qualifications
- Strong leadership skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to motivate and lead a team
- Strong customer service orientation
- Passion for the hospitality industry
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Previous supervisory experience in a restaurant
- Experience using payroll software
- Accounting and arithmetic skills
- Bachelor's Degree in hospitality management or related field preferred
