Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Assist in the interpretation and analysis of various geologic data including boring logs, geophysical wireline logs, geophysical surveys, and more;
- Support the management and analysis of geologic, hydrogeologic, and contaminant data;
- Field work, site investigation and characterization, including sediment, soil, surface water, air monitoring, and groundwater sampling, drilling and contractor oversight;
- Develop geology-focused conceptual site models to support remedial design;
- Create static geologic models using petrophysical inputs for carbon capture and storage applications;
- Prepare technical reports, workplans letters, memoranda, and specifications; and
- Assist in the development of proposals and other business development activities.
- Bachelor's degree in geology. (required)
- Advanced degree geology specializing in stratigraphy. (preferred)
- Prior research experience in geologic interpretation or carbon capture and storage. (preferred)
- Internship(s), co-op position, or prior work experience relevant to the position. (preferred)
- Experience with geologic modeling and geostatistical analysis techniques and software. (preferred)
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to carbon capture and storage permits or environmental remediation. (preferred)
- Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Access, including the ability to write complex formulas and visualize data effectively. (required)
- Experience with or ability to learn three-dimensional (3D) modeling and visualization software (e.g. Petrel, Earth Volumetric Studio (EVS), Leapfrog3D, etc.). (preferred)
- Regular field work and overnight travel.
- Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers. (preferred)
- Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing may be required.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
- Minimum Salary: $64,485/year / Maximum Salary: $80,605/year (Lakewood, CO)
