Procurement Specialist

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail oriented and proactive Procurement and Safety Coordinator to join our team. This dual role position is designed for a professional with expertise in both procurement processes and safety management. The ideal candidate will ensure that all procurement activities are conducted efficiently and in compliance with company policies, while also developing and implementing safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.

Procurement

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sourcing for Parts: Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with reliable suppliers. Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing to ensure the best value for the company.
  • Receiving Parts: Oversee the arrival of shipments and ensure the integrity of the received goods.
  • Order Processing: Oversee the procurement process, from requisition to purchase order issuance, and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages and overstock situations. Coordinate with various departments to forecast needs and manage stock levels effectively.
  • Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities adhere to company policies, legal regulations, and industry standards. Maintain accurate and organized procurement records.
  • Cost Control: Analyze spending patterns and identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality.

Safety

  • Safety Programs: Develop, implement, and monitor safety programs and policies in compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements. Manage our safety systems to ensure compliance.
  • Training: Conduct safety training sessions for employees to ensure understanding and adherence to safety protocols and procedures.
  • Risk Assessment: Perform regular safety inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Incident Management: Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses. Prepare reports and recommend preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal safety regulations and standards. Maintain up to date knowledge of safety laws and best practices.
  • General Administration: Additional administrative duties might include occasionally running office errands by personal vehicle.

Requirements

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of experience in procurement (controls/electrical or related components a plus).
  • Knowledge of procurement processes.
  • Negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software.
  • Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Detail oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
  • Proactive and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Certifications: Certificated Procurement Professional (CPP) or equivalent is a plus, but not required.
