Position Summary
Oversees the electric distribution short-term and long-term asset inspections and maintenance strategies. Directs management team that determines the inspections and maintenance requirements and plans of the electric distribution system to ensure public and employee safety and enhance reliability. Ensures that inspection procedures and criteria are updated to incorporate insights from technical testing, failure analysis, and Subject Matter Expertise input. Interface with various external regulatory entities to provide updates on various inspection and maintenance related commitments.
This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory.
Reporting Relationship
The Director, Dist. Inspections & Maintenance Strategy will report to the Electric Asset Management, Lead.

This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle of the range ($235,000), the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.
A reasonable salary range is:
Bay Area Minimum: $174,000
Bay Area Maximum: $296,000

Job Responsibilities
- Reviews and approves new ideas and technologies to advance effectiveness and efficiency of the joint pole program & processes.
- Leads the development and deployment of long-term asset strategy and reliability programs, including review and approval of distribution system inspections and maintenance project plans.
- Presents findings and makes recommendations to officers and high-level leaders.
- Develops department long-term direction, operating plans, budgets and performance metrics.
- Ensures strategic plans are in place to accomplish ongoing performance improvement of inspection find rates, maintenance work bundling plans and improvements to inspections procedures.
- Enables and supports the development of the Asset Strategy and Distribution Engineering inspections and maintenance Standards process.
- Represents the company and acts as a chair/spokesperson with other utilities, various industry boards, committees, regulatory agencies, governmental bodies, and other private organizations. Develops and implements the Five-Year Capacity Plan.
- Leads staff to accomplish results through effective recruitment and selection, training and development, performance management, change management, and rewards and recognition.

Background Qualifications
Minimum
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering or job-related discipline or equivalent experience.
- Job-related experience, 10 years.
- PE-Professional Engineer license.
- LSS-Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
- Utility industry experience, job-related.
- Experience in asset strategy and development.
- Experience in distribution reliability.
- Experience in engineering, electrical.
