  • What can you expect?**

As the Geologist I, you will utilize your knowledge to participate in collecting, synthesizing and documenting data from investigated areas and assisting in the preparation of project documentation, in addition to providing field support as needed including field site supervision. Your personal initiative and critical thinking skills are essential to complete job duties with minimal guidance. Assignments are deadline driven so must be able to set priorities, take ownership of projects, work efficiently and provide a consistent level of high quality in a high-pressure environment.

  • How will you do it?**
  • Conduct site inspections, assessments, investigations, and cleanups in accordance with state and federal regulatory guidelines and as directed by project management staff.
  • Work with environmental technicians and other technical staff in data collection, site inspection/investigation, and data evaluation in support of environmental project objectives.
  • Prepare technical evaluations of investigated sites.
  • Provide support and prepare written project documentation.
  • Review and document the processes necessary to obtain, develop and/or update environmental permits, plans, reports, licenses, and other requirements necessary to achieve environmental compliance and restoration project objectives.
  • Review and provide documentation of environmental technical standards, guidelines, policies, and formal regulations to ensure proposals meet all appropriate requirements.
  • Prepare charts or graphs from data samples, providing summary information on the environmental relevance of the data.
  • Determine data collection methods to be employed in site surveys and investigations.
  • Actively participate in creating a positive team environment.
  • Support project planning and RFP responses.
  • Work with technical staff in support of project objectives and field operations.
  • Actively participate in a proactive safety culture.
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Perform other duties as directed.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This role does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Introductory knowledge of the practical application of environmental science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various environmental services.

Knowledge and understanding of RCRA, CERCLA, NPDES, CWA, OPPA, CAA, and other applicable laws, legal codes, government
